Update on Rotten Row roadworks....from Jim Freeman,                                                Galliford Try.

Dear Church Lane and Rotten Row Residents

I just wanted to give you an update on the Anglian Water works.  Anglian Water (AW) have made good progress with the installation of the new water main at Rotten Row considering the recent weather conditions. All new pipes have now been installed and back filled up to the existing road level. The new end hydrants have been connected to allow the AW team to test and chlorinate the main, this will then be left to stand for 24 hours and following this, the main will then be flushed and a sample will be taken and sent to the AW lab where it will be tested, this will take approximately 7days.

Following the testing and upon confirmation of a satisfactory result AW will return to site and complete the final connections and transfer the services into the new pipework. If all goes well this should be all completed by Friday 16th January. We will then proceed with reinstatement of the area and construction of the new junction.

I would like to thank you all for your patience in this matter, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact myself or the project team.

The bus shelter has now been installed!

This Friday, the 7th November saw the installation of a new bus shelter outside the village hall. The  parish council has been working hard on your behalf to secure the funding for this project for some time and to obtain the necessary permissions to have the bus shelter located here. Hopefully those waiting for a bus will feel now the benefit of some protection from the elements....
